Im watching a review on the Cooler Master 690 II and i noticed it had a vertical PCI expansion slot next to the horizontal ones. What is the vertical one used for?

I would say for using breakout cards, such as USB headers, fan controls, an additional daughter card to the soundcard etc. Means it doesnt block off an expansion slot you may need.

The aim seems to be for PCI brackets rather than cards so things like USB ports, SATA to eSATA converters etc.

Bah, beaten....

ah that makes sense. So its cards that need a expansion slot but doesnt need to be in a PCI slot? but if you have a wide graphics card the slot will be useless...

ah ok thanks :D i was just curious incase it was made for graphics cards or something, didnt understand why they put it there and now i do :)

Ive never seen it before in a case, but now its there I like it, and it would probably be the sort of thing you want on every case.
