Favourite supermarket sandwich...?

I like to get some big hearty slices of bread and usually add one layer of Tesco and another of ASDA, of course has to has a bit of cheese and tomato lettuce and cucumber. Best supermarket sandwich imo

None as they don't exist.

Home/hand made, or one from a family run deli > *

yea takes 5 minutes to make some sandwhiches up and they taste so much better when you make therm your self with quality bread/buns and not cheap processed crap thats designed to last for weeks

Couldn't agree more. Really dislike all the preservatives and crap they put in bread and food in supermarkets - it's necessary unfortunately and I understand why they do it. However they taste stodgy and just unsatisfying.

A Boots Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato is always nice, but I must agree that ones from a baker, freshly made are much nice. Had an amazing prawn salad from a little sandwich shop in Newcastle, it was a taste sensation!

I don't think many people buy supermarket sandwiches in place of home made ones, they're more like a snack or on the go. Personally the main problem I have with supermarket sandwiches is that one* sandwich is not enough, plus the price is usually pretty high.

There's one that Tesco do which is an all day breakfast kind with 3 slices worth of sandwiches, bit more filling and quite tasty but again a little expensive for what they are.

* Or depending on your definition, two.

I don't know, I buy a sandwich based on its looks not what the label says!

As a rule I don't like them. But M&S Christmas roll with rare beef, horseradish mustard and real ale chutney was the dog's. mmmmmm
