Thinking of getting either a titan raptor or having this set up. Just a few questions I need to ask.
Firstly would I need any extra cooling fans (additional to what the case comes with)?
Would the power supply be okay to run all this? I'd consider overclocking down the line so would that need any extra power or is 650w okay for these parts overclocked (if I did overclock it would be very minor, no more than 10%)?
Lastly is the motherboard suitable for this kind of setup or would there be a better one you could recommend?

Mostly just worried I wouldn't keep it cool enough and it would overheat but I'm not planning on overclocking it much, Thanks for any help.

The motherboard you have chosen is an AM3 socket mobo for PhenomII/AthlonII processors from AMD.

For i5 you need a 1156 socket mobo like this:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-206-GI&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1495

You also might want to choose the i5 750 over the 661

And get aftermarket cooling as the included ones are noisy and crap.
Like THIS if you're short on money or
THIS
if you don't mind spending few quid more : ).

Also you need a dual channel memory LIKE THIS

:))

And get THIS HDD

+ what monitor do you currently have? do you really need the 5870 ? What's your current setup?

Yeah that was my mistake sorry. I could do with a decent mobo reccomendation as I have no idea what is a good mobo :(

I think I'd rather stick with the i5 661 just because it's 3.33 ghz rather than 2.66 and I doubt it's much worse at processing.

I'm doing everything wrong lol. Okay I'll change it to dual channel memory.

I'll probably go with the cheaper fans to keep costs down but yes I want the 5870, currently got a decent 26inch screen and I want a relatively future proof machine so a 5870 is a card I think would last a while.

The i5 750 is a QUAD CORE and i5 661 is DUAL CORE with multithreading, also the 750 has more cache and it will clock to about the same speeds as 661 so in the end the diff between 2.66 and 3.33 doesn't matter, you can run both at 4ghz with decent cooling : ).

--------------
I'd say it's better to go with cheaper GPU and the add second in CF when you need more power or just sell it and change it for whatever is good at the time. GPUs get outdated really fast nowadays (new gen every about 6months) and even likes of 5970 probably won't last long or will get outperformed by cheapo card 1yr later.

Didn't realise one was a quad core and the other was dual core. Okay I'll go for the 750 then.
