Nick Clegg.... Nick Clegg? A man that was a member of the Cambridge Conservative association and a man that has pledged to form a coalition with the Tories, should no party gain an overall majority? No thanks, my vote is still going to Gordon. :p

How Doug Naysmith voted on key issues since 2001:

<snip>
Naysmith isn't standing for re-election anyway. Nothing to do with expenses or anything dirty, he only ever planned to do 10 years.

Despite New Labour's ineptitude his replacement will probably be getting my vote, if only in the hope of pegging the tories back and not having the seat swing. The tories may be a shoe-in for government, but I don't want to see them run away with it considering how devoid of policies and marketing driven they are.

If we had some form of PR and I didn't have to vote tactically I'd probably vote Lib Dem, or go single-issue and vote Green.

Honestly? It's the first time in my life where I am able to vote, but as it stands I know far too little about the workings of politics to make anywhere near an informed enough decision to want to put my vote towards any of them.

I'll be sitting out of this one, I mean I could just take a stab in the dark and vote for whoever but I don't think that's really the way to go about it.

Just vote BNP and have done with it. :p

LOL was gonna say just vote for the BNP

After much reading im inclined to vote liberal now with Labour as my backup

PR would be good, I wouldn't have much problem with a Lab-Lib Dem coalition (given that Lib-Lab is a far more likely alliance than Lab-Con or Lib-Con) being the ruling party. Tories would never go for it though.

The other day I looked back through historical records and I think the last time the Conservatives (or any party for that matter) had >50% share of the vote was in 1935 or something

Personally I'm very glad they didn't. We elect MPs for a reason - to make decisions, so I'm really not clear on the purpose of second guessing those decisions over a single treaty.

That and europe is one of the least important things I can think of when it comes to UK politics. We aren't leaving no matter who's in power and the general posturing and obsession over europe does nobody any favours.

More relevantly I'm more interested in the general outlook of the party rather than whether they keep every manifesto promise because lets face it nobody does.

I don't think the EU question is an overly important one either, but because they back tracked on an easy to do manifesto promise I know I cannot trust them with anything they put down now. It isn't what they lied about, it is the fact that they so blatantly lied. I trust them less than the other parties and that takes some doing!

Defo not voting for Torries. Do not want another Torries party coming in and making the poor even poorer like in the good old days. Not getting my vote.

Lab - They just screwed up every department. But did some good things.

Lib Dem - Sometimes i think, are they even worth it?

BNP - As an asian lad, No chance in hell.

UKIP - Dont know enough about them.

So as it stands, its Lab or Lib Dem.

The problem I have here is twofold:

1. I don't know enough about what each party is promising at this moment in time, this is my fault and I can rectify it with some research.

2. I don't have any faith in either Labour or Conservative. As for the Lib Dems, well I kind of seem them as a wasted vote, although I have voted for them in the past and could well do again :o

So at the moment I am undecided, it's not that I don't want to vote, but at this moment in time I don't have much confidence in our MP's :(

Only assuming there would be absolutely no change in positions, voting patterns etc due to the change in voting process.

Tactical voting patterns would certainly change, for instance, and parties might find the need or desire to shift their positions as a result...

wow 33 racists, ocuk must be proud!

Lib dem for me to try and keep the tories out as local mp

At least we can take solace that, at the end of the general election, the BNP will be confirmed yet again as a vocal but very much minority fringe party.
