Just to check, I just got my 5970. Put all graphic settings to maximum and am getting an average fps of 35.6 and minimum of 30.2 in the benchmark. Is this correct?

I can beat that with my 4850, so I suspect something I wrong.

Oh wait, you haven't said your resolution: mine's 1920x1200, with AAx4 (everything else maxed out)

on a 5970 really? thats not right lol

i get 56fps average on my 4890

It does suffer from a major lack of tracks.

Im a fair old way though the SP, but I am playing it more because I want to complete it, rather than because im enjoing playing it.

Thats not right....i get 61.8 average on ultra with my 4870x2 and Q6600

Dirt2 NEEDS patching.

I take part in the 'Go Fast' tournaments when they appear and all people are doing is using the barriers to ram their way round which seems to magically give them an advantage..

Sorry to ask as it has probably been answered but I have the free download as I got a new 5770 GPU.

I have not installed it yet as am rebuilding my gaming rig atm, but is the download a key? Basically can I get it through Steam?

yes you download via steam if its the same voucher i got with my 5850.

bet the players are loving this extra holiday, we drew our last 3 games since hughton give them christmas day off, could be a tricky match against your reading, we dont score enough, but thankfully we seem to have a good defence which is unusual

Installed my 5970 a few days ago and get 80fps with settings on Ultra where it allows (apart from crowd, now on high, as ultra brings it down to 60fps).

that should not be right, with my rig below i get about 88fps on max everything on a 32" hd tv.
