The ST220 is the obvious candidate, but im having trouble finding a decent blue one with Xenons for under 7k

There are black and silver ones about, but id really like a blue one.

Im still on the lookout for Decent 2.4 Accord Type S as well

but not much luck having finding the right combo of colour and price and spec etc..

Anybody got any other suggestions beyond the accord and st220 ?

You don't want four pot Saabs, they had issues with oil sludging and need "off the schedule" oil changes every 5-6k.

its also £1500 over budget. I could stretch to £6300 or something maybe, but 7k is the absolute, no going over limit.

Wow, its a better looking Vectra VXR for £4000 less money.

Whats the catch?*

*Obviously the catch is that its a poorly built FWD Vectra but as a VXR owner thats obviously not a concern so we'll ignore that for a bit.

this is what i was thinking

Downgrade from the VXR to the 2.0T vectra, but just without the crap spec that the 2.0T SRI vectra has (it doesnt even have rear electric windows for christs sake )

Why Vauxhall insist on doing that I have no idea as its the same on the Insignia as well.

I couldn't get a slower version of my current car, t would upset me everyday.

its because they dont want crap 1.9 diesels diluting the very carefully crafted VXR brand.

They've spent a fortune creating it over the years, VXR track days, BTCC, advertising in the right places, getting a prescence on the modified car scene etc.. to make the brand appeal to the target market

They dont want the SRI high up the trim level pecking order in case it competes with the VXR, so the deliberately make it as poverty spec as possible so people buy the VXR.

Saab Dont share the same opinnion that the top trim level (the Aero Hot) can only have the top of the range 2.8 engine.

it will be to be honest. But less so than driving a 1.8 Mondeo LX

You will when you stop buying Rovers.

No I really won't. Some people will turn down a perfectly good car just because they weren't 'that' fond of the interior.

I know for a fact Fox said he'd love an Evo like Gaijins but won't due to him liking interiors. Surely if you'd love one that much you wouldn't be concerned with how the fan switch feels against your skin but be more concerned about taking the next corner and smiling from ear to ear.
