OcUK Photo Comp - Season Nine : Round One - "Three Techniques" DISCUSSION

Wasent going to enter this year but went to Dartmoor today and grabbed a few shots so thought what the hell.
 
No boobs or baby from me.
Had to think hard and will be thinking harder for this month (and the rest to come) competition. Personal challenge is to hit it up to the top 5 this year :D
 
Do you know when you post something you like, and then the next day you think "what was I thinking?!". Well that's me today! At least it's an entry for now though I suppose.
 
Gaffer, I notice your photo is taken at 800mm f/5.6 :o That's not a Canon 800mm L or 400mm f/2.8 L with 2x converter is it?

It is the 800L and it is fabulous. I had it at the OcUK London meet in Dec '09.

It was a long time coming and I didn't get it till I could pay for it but it still landed me in debt because it demanded nearly 2 grand in extras: the Wimberley, a new Gitzo, the biggest Lowepro, and a custom case so that I could get it in hand baggage. I have a lens coat on order from the USA - this size not available in the UK.

But believe me, it's worth it.

To be honest, George Bush was looking in the wrong place for Weapons of Mass Destruction. It was in Gaffers bag all along :p

Entered a pic from Roxy's shoot today...I *think* it qualifies, can people please tell me if they think it does or doesn't? :)

Can anyone think of a different category it could fall into? I REALLY want this in the comp. Kinda clutching at straws :p

Maybe replace Bokeh with Shallow DOF instead? Bokeh is ummm.. ehh.... how out of focus foreground/background objects are blurred when using shallow DOF, you have a plain black background therefore theres no Bokeh at all. Rubbish explaination sorry, I am sure other people can explain it better :p
