Hi guys,
Been into photography for a while now and am about to purchase an entry-level DSLR. After many hours of comparing the features of the usual 3 (d3000, a230 and 1000d), I settled on the Canon. But now I can't seem to find anywhere that stocks it with the IS version of the kit lens! I'm not sure if this is a deal breaker tbh, as both the Nikon and the Sony have some form of stabilization. I kind of wrote the Nikon off tbh after looking at tests shots and that it has no AEB and is not compatible with all of Nikon's lens offerings. So that left the Sony.. but it's handling seems to be a bit to be desired (I've yet to test it tho), and I prefer the Canon's button layout.
What do you guys think? I've heard the IS version of the 18-55mm is optically superior to the non-IS model as well. It's a bit annoying as the Sony is currently £100 cheaper (after the cash-back offer).. it's just that I'd rather buy into the Canon system for future proofing than Sony's.
Cheers!
