The multiplayer could be good, but I'm a bit concerned about the Single Player. World at War is my favorite of the Call of Duty series so it'll be good to see what Treyarch can do. With their previous game they took the good parts of Modern Warfare and then added to it, and for me it was the best FPS I've played both online and off in years.
People hate on MW2 because it was hyped up beyond belief and even though it's been a success in terms of sales I don't think it's been as great as a lot of people imagined it to be. The Single Player was too short, and very predictable, the ending is almost the exact same as Modern Warfare; slow motion, screen fading and going blurry, suddenly you get a weapon and kill the antagonist of the game, haven't I played this somewhere before?
The Multiplayer was a mess the last time I played it. I've only got the PC version and I have to say it's a very frustrating online experience. It feels like a console game being played with a keyboard and mouse. The matchmaking is hit and miss, the connections are sketchy for a lot of the time and don't even think about trying to get 3 or 4 friends in for games on a regular basis because you're **** out of luck if you want a trouble free experience here.
The game is absolute choc full of perk abusers, we aren't talking a juggernaut user, or a martyrdom drop now and then, we are talking about every game having at least one annoying ****tard on the other team running around with unlimited sprinting and super long knife reach, combine this with the ****ty peer to peer connection and you get someone who's mostly warping around the map knifing people at will.
Don't even mention the akimbo shotguns that were apparently fixed in a patch yet are still able to kill from the other side of the map. Yes, I'm not the best at this game, I've never got the 25 kill streak or anything, but I'm not **** at it either. The smartass idea to leave out dedicated servers was a stupid one for the gamers, because it's not Activision or Infinity Ward that are losing out, it's the people that pay the ridiculous sum of £39.99 to play this game. Thank god some people managed to get it much cheaper from supermarkets on launch and lets hope that Treyarch don't forget their roots, unlike Infinity Ward.
