Dear Mr. ******,
In regard to the account you have registered with Stan James, I can confirm that we were unable to verify your details, therefore we will require you to send ID documentation.
Could you please provide the following documentation:
1. Proof of Identity - copy of your passport, driving licence or country ID card
2. Proof of address - utility bill (mobile phone bill not accepted) or bank statement (less than 3 months old)
3. Proof of card ownership - Copy of Credit / Debit card registered to your Stan James account (front and back, with a legible signature of the card, middle 8 digits may be blacked out)
All these documents can be scanned and emailed to [email protected] if you are unhappy about doing this, then we can send information on how to password protect your documents. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept faxed documents.
Your account has been temporarily suspended until they have been received and approved. Any bets that have been placed will stand, win or lose.
We would take this opportunity to reassure you that all documentation received will be used for the purposes of account verification only and will be dealt with in the strictest confidence.
Well, I'm not going to those lengths just to have a free game of poker. I also think it is ridiculous that this company is going to make $120 out of you lot having a few free games for fun.
Who put you under the illusion it was free? If you know of any software with which we can host these tournaments for free then please pray tell.
As it happens, I wouldn't call £8 to host a 50 player tournament an extortion. A perfect distribution of that burden would put it at 16p each - hardly ridiculous.
The games will take place on Stan James. Free registration and taking part in games is free.
That bit is quite misleading, as even if you do pay nothing, they seem to want a copy of either my passport, creditcard, or one of my bills. There is no way you are going to get me to send some wally in the online gambling scene that sort of personal info.
Nice one fridella, you worried me all the time I was around you, something very intimidating![]()

Might give this a little look in. Honestly, I'm surprised to be hearing about this checking passport stuff, have never had to confirm this type of information on any of the poker/gambling sites I used to frequent (about 10, including 2 or 3 UK based companies). either way, look forward to seeing you all on final table![]()
