DX9 just can't do the lighting and shadow effects like DX10/DX11 though. That's where MW2 really falls short with it's graphics.
Wow, for that comment your on my ignore list. You can't compare these two games visually and to do so shows you really don't have a clue.
What picture are you basing that on? Because as you go further down a few photographs have crept in... it actually looks really fake in the top ones.
Hope you don't mean the photo of the marsh water.
Also, the artifacts on those snow rocks = vomit tbh.
MW 1 + 2 are good looking but Crysis 2 looks miles better, and don't tell me you can't see it cause we all can.

Lol at the MW2 comparisions.
MW2 is mostly static prebaked old dx8/dx9 graphics, with some newer shading effects tacked on. Thats why it runs at 100fps.
Plus I'm suprised Rroff even posted those pics, they look crap.

there is a official crysis 2 tech demo out there on the tube i'm having trouble finding it tho.
it did state that cry engine 3 will be optimsed for the pc and will not run off generic ps3 criteria. (i'll go look for the vid now)

another vid but looks a bit rough round the edges if you ask me original crysis on pc looks much better than this on high-very high with 4x AA

They weren't faked, it had more to do with the lighting in certain segments of the game. Theres cfg files around that make the gmae look pretty much exactly how it did in the old pics and vids.

people, those screenshots are not of crysis 2, its the engine they used to make "Crysis" the pc game........
some of those screenshots i think include mods developed for crysis... the main reason they look so good is due to TOD (Time Of Day) artists who have altered ghraphics, lighting and other settings and then render them out in high res so they look better....
one scene i think in those screenshots is of a mod named propyat i think, bassicly some russian city / demolition zone :S not sure
but its not crysis 2 lol
