*** New crysis 2 screenshots ***

Holy ****. Graphics certainly has come a long way from the Pacman days :p

...all of a sudden getting a 5870 instead of a 5850 is looking a lot more of an attractive preposition.

It looks nice... but... I don't think it looks any better than what can be done with Modern Warfare 2... and thats a 10 year old engine with some DX9 features tacked on top.

yeah the screenshots pre-crysis release as I think someone else mentioned in the other thread had similiar hyper realistic looking ingame/real life comparisions and theres nowhere in the game that looks even close to those screenshots.

these are not crysis 2 screenshots. they are cryengine 2 screenshots with mods, tods, configs etc.

not really with custom configs and maps pre-release screenshots look poor in comparison these days with what you can get ingame.

Some of the screenshots look great but they bear no relation to what the game actually looks like in action. And it's not like it's a new engine or anything - they're all taken using a game engine that's several years old now; one that still runs poorly on cutting edge hardware.

To me games like Team Fortress 2 and Far Cry 2 were a lot more impressive because not only did they look stunning but they both ran incredibly well on hardware of the same generation - better even than Crysis, a much older game. That's without even taking gameplay into account, which is where Crysis completely fell apart.
