Getting Alleyway Closed Down...Advice?

Probably, but they'd need ladders etc... and you can make them for about £3 so you could just keep replacing it until they got bored

I'm not convinced. You'd just chuck rocks and bottles etc.

When I was about 14 I was a ****. Definitely not proud, but I remember that something like would have made me more determined. Don't underestimate the pettiness and determination of a young teenager. You'll end up getting your windows put through.

Unfortunately doing something on the offensive like that would only provoke more problems.

It is quite a sad problem, really.

Would you and your neighbours club together to buy one of those mosquito's. This would depend if your neighbours have kids.

Are the mosquitos really that bad.

How big is the alley way? I'm not sure if this applies but the route to the back of our houses to park cars etc has gates which the neighbourhood banded together and paid for. Everyone that has a house connected got a key....

Forgot to mention that we had the gate installed because youths were putting graffiti on garage doors. A guy who owns a car tuning business had £25000 worth of equipment stolen, he was uninsured =/

You are complaining about people opening your unlocked door? And this is after several break ins on your street? Common sense....

We always leave the door unlocked unless out or in bed.

What happens if you are in the toilet/shower, could they run in, grab your keys and steal your car?

Get a door that locks automatically from the outside? I thought most doors did that now... Who leaves their front door unlocked!

When I lived with my folks, the door was left unlocked.... You say it (with an exclamation mark for emphasis) as if you shouldnt be able to...

Yep OP is being rather silly about taht. Lock it, they know you leave it open if you start locking it, within a few weeks you probably see things imrove. why cut your nose of to spite your face.

common sense and some pro active stuff.
Phone cab up/ ask a solicitor on your rights and legal routes, write to your mp, get neighbours to write to mp. Report EVERY little thing to police same with neighbours. All go to every council meeting and bring the problems up.

And for the love of god lock your door and be a bit sensible.

Write to you local councillor and raise the issue, repeatedly. If they say the can't close the ally ask them to provide a police presence in the evenings because it's making you life a missery. If they still do nothing, find out where they live and pay the kids to go round thier house.

I don't have these kind of problems, but then If someone annoys me I ask them to stop instead of posting it on a forum...

Have you, you know, like spoken to them?

Well, set it up?

Smash a stone through your window (a small one so it won't cost an arm and a leg), if still no joy, threat to go to the papers about it and will detail how you got 1) no compensation 2) how this has been a ongoing situation for several years of which your council have just put aside.

Simples.

You need to scare them.

Whenever the council ask you to write things down as they happen the best thing to do is simply fabricate incidents and tell them you have been logging things for the past 12 months or so in preperation.

Right at the end of our street was an alleyway that led to fields which was quite useful for shortcuts and other people walking dogs etc.
After years of problems and getting nowhere the 2 neighbours blocked the alley way and turned into a bigger garden for the one on the right.
They built a wall at the back and put breeze block up at the front but after complaints the Council came out and did nothing.

Considering it sounds like he lives in a dodgey area a locked door is the first thing you should do. TBH anyone living on a "busy" street really should. If you live down a quiet street then maybe not but still.

The thing is no one is breaking the law if they just walk into your house and sit on your sofa... Break something, then it's illegal but just trespassing isn't.

Just start acting mental when the kids are there. Make yourself a scary legend like the old guy from Home Alone. Kids won't come near.
