If you had double din already that cuts out like most of the work involved in doing it

Are you a sex pest as well as a forum pest?

Again, look at the auction prices (for UK supplied items) and their costs. Nothing in it.

I'm sorry but.. what? That has to be a candidate for most bizarre post this year.

Using say the A4 as an example... £500 fitted from oemretrofits.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Audi-A4-S4-na...ics_GPSSystems_GPSSystems?hash=item4ced077e83

So basically its about 70 quid to fit the unit. Which is surely about the going rate for an hour or twos labour from a car audio place, rather than 'OMG WOW'?

It's still amazing quite how cheap and easy the RNS-E retrofits for VAG cars are. One of the areas VAG really have things sorted - far better functionality than the inferior and considerably more expensive BMW system as well.

An rns-e for an A4 would be really helpful, if I owned an A4 ;-)
Auction site RNS-E from UK for A3 are circa £560 incl P&P, then you need the right adapter for your car (+£). Oemretrofit £590 for my car.

Go troll somewhere else.

It was an example to compare the pricing.

The only troll in this thread is you. You might not agree with my opinion or even feel its valid but I'm expressing it in a polite and not insulting way.

You, on the other hand, have so far told me to 'buy a golf' and asked if I am a sex pest before finally accusing me of trolling.

Why dont you look in the mirror? Why are you so bothered that somebody on the internet doesn't think you just got deal of the decade

then there's the bluetooth stuff, microphone for phone (and noise controlled volume thing - which annoyingly cannot be turned off on the RNS-E (unlike the alana systems in the Seat systems), GPS transmitter, then tv unit (if you choose to have it) -which at least the latter requires ripping half the interior out, well, rear seats to be exact.

Wake up and smell the coffee. Your 'opinion' was to offer bad advice "why didnt you just do it yourself and save a fortune". The buy a golf is and will continue to be an OcUK joke. You are a forum pest, and thus a troll.

I don't think I got the deal of the decade  I posted to point fellow forum members to a good level of service at a reasonable price.

Oh and you probably are a sex pest.

A 'proper job' Whats an inproper job?

My point is that unlike on other cars ie BMW where you must rip the interior to bits and wire in 900 new bits of kit the VAG stuff is single unit and is, at least as far as my understanding goes, relatively plug and play.

Still, if as he says he paid auction price and got fitting included then it sounds like it was a good buy :)

I guess I'm just jealous that VAG have all-in-one units whereas BMW ones are 6 seperate stupidly out of date boxes each of which costing £300 :p

Yup the Audi ones are easy. My brother was very smug when he upgraded the head unit to the nav one in his A3, knowing it took 1/100th of the time and effort and looked better :p

The TV tuner doesn't look to be worth the hassle, have you added anything to your RNS-e?

Thats your opinion and you are entitled to it, I guess.

Just looked like a 'WOW I GOT A BARGAIN' thread to me. I mean why not share with us some pics of what its like? Why not tell us more about the new functionality it offers you etc?

Oh and you probably are a sex pest.

Why do you persist with the personal insults? What link is there between sexual crime and opinions on navigation systems on the internet?

I've not personally insulted you, so why insult me?

 Since when do recommendation threads look like boasting threads? If people want to see the Sat Nav and know more about it, I can of course post details on it - but it's far from unique.

Fair play with the sex pest, you are extremely annoying however. Do you not wonder why you get so many people digging at you?

I know its not unique but we all love pictures. Post some pics of what it looks like. I'm not a huge VAG fan but I *do* like the Vag nav systems (As I've said before in this thread)

No :p

Fair play, apologies your a thick skinned chap.

I'll whip the poorboys out tomorrow and take some pics.

Back OT, these chaps are bang on with their service and price. They're also looking at revising their prices on the 2nd Gen TT at some point.

P.S I have a secret lovin' for the 5 Series (E60?) Unit in Mark's car. Would be nice to change the focus of the heated seats :O
