yet more ati woes i wish nvidia would sort themselves out and hurry up with something

id suggest prime95 next, use the blend test, see if you can let it run 24 hours
also what are your memory timings, if you have them at 1t, try 2t as 1t can be unstable and it could be that, its just something as small as that tripping up the system by the sound of things

dead easy mate, get it downloaded, extract it to a folder(make one for it) and run the prime95 application, i think it then ask what you want to do, just pick stress testing, then pick blend test, then go.

get your self realtemp aswell to keep an eye on temps

CPU/system memory errors usually cause BSODs, file corruption, page faults or other Windows errors, not blank screens with vertical lines.

pc is still useable, maybe keep off the heavy tasks such as gaming, but it'll be fine for net usage and stuff

Somehow I don't think he bought a £125 graphics card to keep off the gaming. :p

ive decided to reformat again and install the hotfix from scratch :) want to get this to work as im in two minds wether to buy another for some xfire :)

hmmm, its running and looks like its cooking my cpu gone up from mid30's to 60............

and rising 67 :(

That's nothing to worry about for an i5 as long as it doesn't fail the test.

I still think you're being sent on a wild goose chase though, it sounds like you've got a duff card so I'd be trying to rule that out first.

The fact that you had two NV cards that worked flawlessly in the same system points to it being something ATI related.
