Had a bit of a scare with one of the children this morning so I thought it maybe wise to invest in one of the phone tracking services - would save my heart for sure :)

So I had a quick google and they all seem to be subscription based - which is fine but then they limit the number of tracks done, which I hadn't expected.

Does anyone have any experience of these services and recommend. I also see that Google have the latitude service - how seamless is this, does it only work when they query google maps or can it work in the back group (internet use is not an issue if it is any good).

Any thoughts would be appretiated

Samsung Blade which is the one we really want to track and either an old Nokia 3410 or a Sony Ericson (the previous model) I can find for sure tonight.

Seems to be quite good no monthly charge but a charge per track which works out at .39p a track although the packs only last 6 months - why do they do that :(

Maybe something along the lines of

If there is a client for that mobile (not sure the blade is a smart phone or not)

The bonus is it will be a lot more acurate than those phone tracking services that usualy rely of triangulating there position using phone masts

To be fair unless you have gps in the phone that is all googlemaps will do and I suspect it will need to be running as well

OK been using followus for a couple of days. Works excellently, my daughter appears to be getting worse at letting us know and on both occasions I just hit the site and click track and I get a view of the radius she is within.

Very reassuring stuff :)
