Since Britain is gripped by snow and ice, Thames Valley Police have launched a unit that does not need cars that are effectively useless in the bad weather.

The Real Snow Patrol

Well done and this should deflect the they all abuse human rights / all are thugs brigade for a while. :)

Hahaha, looks awesome!!

Although to be fair, they shouldn't really be doing that while on duty, save it for when they've clocked off.

The snow had "a habit of bringing out the child in all of us".

He's got a point, I haven't had so much fun outside since the last time it snowed :)

lol
Imagine if you were in that field having abit of a "smoke", saw the riot van pull up, crapped yourself, then saw that! lol

LOL

I have spoken to the officers concerned and reminded them in no uncertain terms that tobogganing on duty, on police equipment and at taxpayers' expense is a very bad idea

Awesome :D

I like the little scream the guy does as he sets off!

Come on who doesn't have a mess around when quite periods hit. Fantastic. Glad they only "had a talking to" I can just imagine that one behind closed doors. Hi-5s all round whilst giggling don't do that again.

I found it hilarious. Shame this is newsworthy. Who doesn't have a laugh during work? It's not clear by they were in the area, they could have just been waiting around for something and had a few moments free.

Good to see that they aren't so serious all the time :) And like the article states, a bit of a change from what you normally read about.

Just wait until the next batch of snow when police forces are using riot shields to get to stranded members of the public. I bet some high up jobsworth takes credit for thinking of it.

Can't see too much problem with it... maybe a bit silly doing it on the clock but maybe they were practicing rescue procedures? ;)
