Sapphire 5970? Discontinued

I have also hered that, phoned up and they said that its listed as Discontinued from there wholesaler!? Im really p*##ed at ATI for how bad there distribution is. I want one as may of you I am sure do but I wont justify paying over £500. They have been out since Q4 last year surely they should be on shelves by now. Not helped I suppose by TSMC yields.

Surely it's the Sapphire version only though right? As in there are other 5970's being manufactured currently?
Source? i thought asus made there own because of the voltage software it has, or am i wrong
and it's just a custom bios and stickers?mathwat

Its possible that Sapphire are changing their 'stock' 5970 to a non reference design and therefore have discontinued the original. I've seen similar queries about US websites.
Hmm iv put the on the AMD Game Forums and as Cold Fusion says there seems mutterings about this. Maybe I will hold off for a month just to see. Its damm annoying as I have every part of my new build 12GRM ASUSD-Delume, H50, SSD, everything else, except my GFX. Its just annoying to wait and I dont want to install Wn7 with some crappy GFX and then swap-out. Ohh Well (..sigh..).
