Planning on going on holiday with my GF at the start of June. Term ends on the 5th so as close to that as possible really.

She went to Zante last year and loved it there, so we been thinking Kefalonia, Kos or maybe Corfu.

Anyone have any recommendations of where to go & stay in either of those?

Being students it has to be cheap but nice and the longer the better. :D

Kefalonia looks really nice, but maybe not a lot to do? Obviously nice food and restaurants but also a bar or two to chill at. Have some fun as well as just doing nothing at all.

Any help and ideas would be great. Thanks. :)

I'd second Skiathos - gorgeous island and lots to do! (more expensive than some other island hols because flights are infrequent - but def worth it)
Corfu / Rhodes both lovely if you go the right areas (or very loud / clubby if you go to the wrong ones!)

Hmmm ok thanks chaps. Will have a look.

Where did you both stay? Did you stay in Skiathos town as well goldilocks?

Recommendtaions not on those islands

Lindos in Rhodes and Skiathos Town

Quoted for the absolute truth. Lindos is beautiful, did you take a donkey ride?? :D

Rhodes is probably my favourite Greek island, I loved Rhodes town too. Would love to go to Santorini at some point though.

Been to Aghios Stefanos in the North West of Corfu for the last three years and we are returning in July for the fourth time.

As some have said pick the right/wrong ( delete as appropriate ) resort and it will be noisy club orientated.

Aghios Stefanos is the opposite, a small quiet town with a lovely beach. Cant reccomend it enough, a very relaxing fortnight.

Stuff to do if you want it ( watersports etc ), buggy/moped is easy to hire to get to busier resorts, Sidari being the closest busy resort, there is a bus which is quite regular costing 2 or 3 euro each, return. A taxi one way was 6 or 7 euros meaning a night out in Sidari was entirely possible.

I stayed just outside Sidari in Corfu, (Canal De Amour?) and quite enjoyed it. There was a restaurant called Mythos in Sidari which had the most delicious greek food at affordable prices.

Quite like the sound of Aghios Stefanos though :)

Hmm well I've been to:

Kefalonia,
Corfu,
Paxos (+anti-paxos),
Samos,
Rhodes,
Lesbos,
Evia,
Skiathos (+skopelos),
Ithica,
Lefkas,
and
Parga (mainland).

Of those my favourite holidays were Kefalonia (stayed in a place called Skala) and Skiathos/skopelos. It depends what you like to do. If you enjoy nice beaches and relaxing pick the ones I did. For a bit more hustle and bustle find busier islands/towns.

Not Kefalonia, last time i went there, the final day something went on inside one of the volcanoes that caused an earthquake.

I love Rhodes town. Have you also considered Crete? Lots of historical sites on both islands.

Lindos in Rhodes

This place. Bit of a sun trap though, hot even in October. I'd take plenty of mozzy repellent too. If you don't like it Faliraki (party town but an absolute toilet of a place) is not far up the road.

Was Just going to mention Crete. Me and the gf went last year. We both loved it. Stayed in Hersonissos, A few miles away from Malia :)

yes does get hot, another option is to stay in Pefkos and travel into Lindos when you want ( about 5 Euro taxi )

My mum lives a few miles away from Hersonissos. Great place, I'm looking forward to my next holiday there in easter..

Cant be said for Malia though. Its a nice town but far too many drunk british teenagers. Dont go there if you want a quiet holiday.

Yeah I never actually went anywhere near malia lol.

Loved Hersonissos tho. Nice walk down to the harbour on a evening. Stop at a bar for a drink or two or three. Good times. Enjoy easter :)
