Oil leak question

Hi, my car has a very minor oil leak that I noticed today.
It really is just a drop or two a day.

I have had the car up on a ramp but I cannot see much except the oil is coming from the back - Either from the sump gasket or the oil filter.

I just wondered, is it common for oil filters to leak?
What else is around the oil filter on a bubble shape micra to leak?

I will take it to a garage but I had planned to go to see a friend 125 miles away (each way) this weekend.

is there an oil cooler block on top of the oil filter?

Oil pressure switch is on the back of those engines isn't it?

Seen a few leaking before on Nissans.

It depends on what you mean by a drop or two...lol.

Have you got the car on the ramps when its hot if thats when it leaks most.

Get some engine oil degreaser type stuff and clean the underside - removing all the oil will help show where its coming from

Watch the oil pressure gauge and oil level like a hawk too, otherwise it's engine swap time if you run it with no oil at all

It is a low spec 90s hatch it doesn't have an oil pressure gauge on the dash

I will clean the underside and check frequenly. I know a garage could look but I am reluctant to pay £50-60 an hour for a chimp with a spanner to fix it!

It reallt just is a drop or two. I estimate less than 50ml of oil a week.
