ARRRRRRGHHHH Armpits are on teh fires!

Driclor is brilliant stuff - a nightmare the first few times you use it, but only advice I can give is to start off applying a small amount and moisturise the hell out of your armpits the days you dont use it!

Only need to use it once every 7-10 days now and still dry as a bone!

My Driclor has arrived, no more sweaty palms for me.
I've just bought some for my palms too. They are sweaty 100% of the time, praying this works.

I put some on and left it on last night, didn't sting until I woke up and then it was only dull, washed it off and today they are as clammy as ever. Gonna give it a few days.

Does it take a while? Should I start using it throughout the day when my hands are idle?

Edit: 14th July 2009, search fail! Thought this thread was from today.

Hurt the first time, but not again. Sometimes I put too much on and it can be irritating.

But hands though? Are you sure it's going to work? The skin on your hand is much thicker that the skin under youy pits.

Never even heard of this stuff before, I don't think I'd try it for the reasons mentioned already, just seems a bit wrong to be blocking stuff up like that. Scary stuff :o

How come you have to use it the night before?

EDIT: Btw, love that Garth Marenghi quote, first thing I thought of when I saw this thread :D Scientific fact.

Apply it daily for 2~ weeks and then you can go down to using it once a week or so. Fantastic stuff.

Oh my, I remeber this stuff.........first time I used it I slapped it on, within 10 mins my armpits exploded into a ball of fire.

I was up half the night, in pain and vowing not to use this stuff ever again. I had about 2hrs sleep. I got up and looked at my pits and they were very sore/red broken skin.

anyway, I used it for a few months, it's really good stuff, but every now and again the pain would strike.....so Lynx AP is what I use now.

What I noticed was, after showering/bath make sure you are completly dry before applying or the burn will return...

Pretty much every antiperspirant on the market contains the same active ingredient just smaller amounts.

How come you have to use it the night before?
The active ingredient reacts with water to create an acid which causes the stinging sensation people report.

Laying down naturally suppresses sweating and so does the stillness from sleeping.

Meh, my view is that you sweat for a reason, i.e it is an essential part of your respiration system to keep your body regulated well heat wise.

Sweat will only smell if stale, so as long as you wash daily and change your clothes I don't particularly see the need to fill my armpits with a metal that the scientific community can't decide is toxic or not......

I bet 99% of unwanted sweat (i.e while not exercising) is due to excessive weight and / or generally unfit. Sort the initial problem, not the body's natural solution.

I use sanex for men. Its great. Stops me sweating pretty much all day. Tried mitchums roll on a while back, it made my under arms feel all gammy so i threw it straight in the bin. Horrible feeling

It's not always about the smell though, is it. Two words: pit stains. It's for this reason and this reason alone that I use the stuff, and only before a job interview/important date.
