After a generally bad day all round due to a variety of reasons, I go to see my Zafira on the way home that my partner broke down in. All it was was a flat battery. I notice on pulling up to the car that the rear bumper has been battered and someone has obviously gone into the back of it whilst it was parked (safely on a side road not in any snow or ice). The boot is hard to close and open now. :(

The car also already has damage from an incident by her indoors and a low wall in a car park down the nearside rear quarter/sill of the car. So this obviously makes my day and I'm really happy that I now have two bits of damage to fix. :(

I then proceed to drive all of a few hundred yards home and as I am turning right off of the main road into my estate, some guy in a BMW starts to creep forward to pull out of the junction into the main road (also turning right). It seemed to happen in slow motion, I saw him creeping and just thought he was hurrying me along, but as I finish my right turn I can see it about to happen so I even speed up to complete the right turn....I've nearly made it as he creeps further into the road like a blind man only for the inevitable whack and crunch. My offside rear quarter panel/door etc is now battered so I have both sides done and the rear bumper. To say I am a bit miffed would be an understatement. This car is cursed I swear. I run down the road begging a guy that saw it to be my witness. He does. I then role up to the BMW, and outsteps...a Dominos pizza driver.

So my question is this...

What is the cheapest way of getting all of this fixed. My insurance is £250 total excess and I have protected no claims bonus. If I want both sides of the car done do I have to make two separate claims? What about the rear bumper being bashed out/repaired or replaced? The car was worth £2500 when we bought it last Autumn. Yes I know it's a Zafira and all, but it's a good practical family car that I want to get sorted as I intended to keep for a good few years. To be honest, I'd like for it to be written off but worried that each individual bit of damage is not enough.
Obviously the latest damage was the guys fault and it shoudl hopefully go my way easily, but you never know.

Advice from fellow OCUK motor forum goers?

Cheers

The damage from the BMW will be fixed by the other insurer but if you want the existing damage fixed you'll have to claim on your own insurance and pay the excess unless the existing damage is where the BMW hit you.

Ring the branch and talk to the manager, it might be the drivers own insurance if it's not a Domino's marked car.

Dominos delivery drivers use their own cars and their own insurance so nothing to worry about there.

Ohhh really? I guess that makes sense as otherwise it might make an impact on your policy price.

The BMW damage will be repaired by his insurer/Dominos.

Whilst it's in the body shop for that I expect a word with the body shop owner and he could do the other damage for not a massive amount more.

Is it possible the BMW caused the boot not to open close properly?

No, the damage on the rear bumper was done before that incident. Ok well I guess I have to wait to see what happens :(

No they dont donimos cover them 3rd party, that why you dont need business use on your policy if you work for them

didnt think insurance companies would give dual coverage, due to difficulties with claims, who pays out, was he on work time etc
