Nokia N900

I've just got Command and Conquer Red Alert running on mine :)

About to give Theme hospital a crack.

Meatball: There isn't a pc suite for the n900 as of yet, but things are being released as of now so there should be one within the next few weeks.

It does work with PC Suite, ie syncing contacts, acting as a modem, backup photos etc.. theres just some functionalities missing.

just got my n900 finding it a bit different to get used to..any way to turn sms reports on? also whats that small usb lead with a square block on the other end used for manual dont say?

Just go into sms application, click settings, receive delivery reports - easy as pie.

Install camkeyd when you get the chance (in Application manager) It allows you to multitask quicker using a half press of the camera button. Also upgrade the firmware (then you can portrait browse)

Watch the demo video or read the instructions:p
Press the top left hand corner of the screen to get to multitasking/apps. You have a clean desktop when you start, you need to customise it with the icons/widgets you want.

anyway you can view your sent messages or keep a total of how you have sent? cant even seem to find the way to change the message tone

mate just look around the settings its easy, or just read the instructions but just look around its not hard. You might need to install an app to count the number of messages sent, but course you can see the messages you've sent.

yeh got it sorted now thanks problem was my fat fingers werent scrolling down far enough...it kept rolling back up.so used the stylus and saw the extra settings etc im not used to a touch screen ...getting there now

Updated my software but it won't switch to portrait, not that it is a particular worry I must say. I have also downloaded an app that organises your app manager better, can't remember the name but it's a good shout, tidies things up a bit.

Oh, whoever recommended angry birds....die die die die die! I am proper hooked!

Press ctrl, shift and 'o' when in the browser to activate automatic portrait mode. The new firmware makes the app manager look so much better.:)

Ive just got my N900, pretty impressed so far, coming from a Nokia N80.

Is/are there any sites that have something like RSS updates of maemo updates etc and when they were released?

Is anyone elses GPS slightly out as well? mine is currently placing me about 3/4 mile down the road from where I actually am.

It will alert you automatically when there is an update. If you want to check go into application manager and click updates.

GPS was dire until I changed my GPS location server to "supl.google.com" (in the settings), its good now.

Thanks Christo, Ill try that new server :)

Hmm seems a bit quicker but still not accurate, still about 3/4 mile away

hmm i cannot download any packages from the Extras repository. I keep getting Application package not found. I check the catalogues and it states a timeout??

Typical that it happens shortly after I start looking at new apps.

Other than the main store and maemo.org are there any others?
