VXR Has gone. Did the deal today

I love the S60 good choice. :)

You aint had a overpowerd FWD till you had a Cadillac STS with wobbly american steering :D

:(

I'd have kept the VXR personally, but I would have cried too tbh.

I miss my CTR, MX5 is too slow :(

At least it's a bit more family orientated and I hope the consumables and running isn't as bad as the VXR, but I think it won't be too far off really.

Genuinely gutted that its gone, i actually cried a bit at the dealers, which everybody picked up on and took the **** out of me for, but i really loved the VXR.

Gay :p

I bet the dealer was rubbing his hands together. Trade p/x for yours, dealer price for the one you bought.

what are bonnet lifters?

gas struts that lift the bonnet instead of you having to lift it yourself and use the bar to hold it

Ive come from a cheap vauxhall so easily pleased !

I can't help but think this is going to cost even more to run than the VXR, ah well, good luck with it!

Ive saved £300 a year on tax and tyres. Fuel will be about the same. Yes its a year older and with more miles, but it has to break a LOT to cost significantly more than the vectra. I dont mind if it costs £500 a year more, thats only £200 a year more minus the savings, and with a couple of grand in the bank to cushion us, we wont notice the increase.

are you serious?! your vectra didn't have these?
i didn't even know cars were still being produced without struts!
i presume there's a stick to hold up the bootlid too? :p

what was your average mpg in the vectra roughly?
i really think you're going to see 20mpg in this given the way you drive :p

Not quite, the vectra was rough round the edges. It has a small scrape on the front that needed a front bumper respray, the drivers door side seat bolster needed repairing, and two of the alloys badly needed a refurb.

Bare in mind it needs new rear pads v. soon at £100 and 4th year service at £270 + vat it doesnt look that rosy a deal for him.

manual or auto?

manual

From one over powered FWD to another, duller one. How odd.

BMW was never going to happen as servicing and parts was going to be too much. Audis haldex system gets slated for being pointless, and an evo / subaru was never going to happen either.

Just about everything in its class is overpowered FWD as audi / subaru / evos / bmw would cost significantly more to run and insure.
