Battlefield BC2 looking dam sweet

43 is Q1, pretty sure it was previously said to be out for xmas?

ea store gives beta i think it was said

pr 2 is being built on another engine as the developers already anticipated future bf engines would not be any more suitable then crysis, etc.
0.9 will be out before bc2 most likely, I think it'll have german and idf forces. Im not surprised ea stopped 3rd party mods as it risks putting them to shame

BETA Details:

* Beta Begins/Ends - Jan 28th/Feb 25th
* Map Name - Port Valdez
* Players - 32
* Game Mode - Rush
* Environment - Snow
* Theme - Vehicle and Infantry
* Back Story - The battle for Port Valdez is fought alongside the waterline towards a great oil industrial landscape in the Alaskan mountains. Using basically everything they've got the Russian forces are launching an airborne assault to knock out the oil industries in the area. In their arsenal there are Main Battle Tanks as well as fast-moving Quad Bikes and mobile armored AA. It's a vehicle focused battle, but with plenty of infantry combat.

Im not,im just gonna wait for it to come through my door as the steam version will probably be 34.99 or more.

ayye, if its about the same as play etc, then ill probably grab it on steam and cancel my pre. But i cant see it being, when the ea store is a tenner more

id happily pay a tenner extra to have it on steam! 34.99 sounds good enough to me
considering the hundreds of hours ill spend playing it, more than worth it
no cd and unlimited downloads anytime you format, wahey!

ea store does discount codes and steam doesnt

ea store ALSO have a limited number of downloads which they dont put boldly on their main page :o

i woulda waited for steam but nobody knows about steam beta as of yet,thats the only reason why i bought from play.com

I woud have went with steam if we were guaranteed preloads so we could play it when its released, rather than everyone bouncing on the dload servers at the same time and crippling speeds for everyone. I got warhead off steam and i don't think i even got the mp dloaded till about 2 days after release.

But the diving thing is irrelevant if the developer just makes the speed from upright to prone to upright more realistic, and it is a needed tactic for snipers (bear in mind they are disadvantaged by having slow firing weapons mostly and need a tighter ret for longer distances not to mention have to stand still for longer to get the ret to settle!) also firing an LMG from the hip...

if the real game isnt going to be tied to steam/ea downloader then i would be wary of buying the digital version.
with bf2 if you had the digital version you didnt use the same bf2.exe as the cd version which meant most clan servers would boot you for not passing an md5 checksum on the punkbuster mod that was oh so popular.

Its not a needed tactic at all, you get a few sniper rifles to choose from and can unlock more, also there is no movement on the scope from the looks of the videos.

LMG's firing from the hip is nothing new to games but accuracey suffers.

Prone is great as it makes you less of an obvious target in certain situations. Dive removed it so it would quiken the tempo of the gameplay. I do like the fact that bf games play a little slower in comparison to othe fps.

beta players retain their soldier names :)

OfficialBFBC2

Heads Up: PC #BFBC2 Beta Players will secure their gamer alias (Soldier Name) for retail.

Surely that means snipers will have problems, and I agree about bf being able to be played at a slower pace.
