ok serious now, i have come across this site flogging photoshop for 24 dollars, however, no padlock appears in the browser at the check out but it has the verisign logo etc.

what do you reckon, software is download and says it,s an official adobe partner.

How can i check it out?

Yes, it's clearly real - I mean it costs about £400 odd new, so getting a download only copy for £24 is clearly legit.

isnt there an open source photo editor that is almost a direct copy of photoshop? i remember seeing one on the gadget show years ago but i dont know it it has all the features most people use in photoshop

Off topic slightly but i cant contain myself any longer! IVE JUST WON THE NIGERIAN ROYAL COMMUNAL LOTTERY :D:D:D Its strange i dont even remember entering, but i got an email from them so i assume its legit. All i need do do is provide them with my bank and address details and its mine!

That's Photoshop Elements not Photoshop. Elements is a cut-down version. Dunno about the site though.
 
I could make a website with the verisign logo on it, it's only an image.

The 'secure' payment page is an http:// address, not https:// and there are no signs of any kind of security.

I'd be willing to be that a) the software is as bent as a 9 bob note and b) your card will be used by a nigerian to buy AIDS medicine.
