Bit rusty on overclocking these days....my rig is 8hrs Prime95 small FFTs stable and fine with 20 passes of IBT on 'Standard'. Is there any need to test at a higher stress level?

Blend on prime or max on IBT will stress the rest of the components (memory/chipset).

So allways best to make sure its stable with those too, as small fft and standard on ibt will just mean the cpu is stable, but the rest may not be.

IBT is ok, ver 2.3 can be a bit buggy on i7's, prefer linX, though when i do run IBT ver 2.4 (latest) i tend to set stress level to maximum using all available ram on 20 runs.

Ok cool. Does everyone else force threads in IBT to 8, as with it on auto it only runs the CPU @ 50%?

all i use now is occt

the linpack on there has HT and x64 modes too

the power supply test on there is a great full system stress tester too

Right it survived 20 passes on Maximum, good stuff. I'll run Prime blend when I'm at work on Monday. Just hope this rigorous testing will sort out the random instability I've been experiencing lately.

thats what i had to end up using on my Q8300 OC as ITB was passing fine but OCCT failed after about 8mins.
was a bit scared to do the PSU test after reading the warning that came up.
