I've recently got into photography, and I've decided to make a small portfolio and blog to showcase some of my shots to family and friends.

It's been a while since I've done any web design and coding was never my strong point, so I've stuck to what I'm comfortable with (tables and css). but this is what I've managed to conjure up so far.

As you can see I'm using a few .png images in there. I'm a little worried how this is going to look for people in older browsers because I remember a while back they didn't used to work too well for portraying "transparent" images. The recent browsers seem to be up to date with that sort of thing. Am I worrying too much? I'd imagine there is a still a large amount of people on old software who may not be able to view it at its best.

I've haven't gone for the visually intensive look, just something relatively fast loading and easy on the eye. Constructive comments and suggestions always welcome.

P.s. Ignore the text on the updates. It's a little private joke with my housemates, and really just there to showcase what the live layout will be.

png's are only an issue (iirc) for ie6, if you're concerned try taking a screenshot of the images whilst being used then cut them out and save as a jpg instead.

i think site is ok, not too much to review. text imo is way too small; on this tiny laptop it's small, i'd hate to imagine how it'll look on my 24".

also i'm not so keen on telling me what your site looks best on, what are you trying to achieve by telling me that? why is it viewed better on ie6 then the latest safari/opera?

i'd also say make the blue a slightly lighter tone as atm it's slightly hard to see.

Not too sure why I wrote that down to be honest, mainly for something to put there until I finished it off.

I'll have a think about the colour, I didn't really want a really rich colour for it. As for the text, I'm going to have a play about with size and aesthetics and see what balance I can strike.

Thanks.
