Hello all,

any idea which brand I should be looking at for cheap all round tyres?

Requirements:

- quiet at motorway speeds (for the odd trip away from the city)

- low budget (up to 75 quid each?)

- all season (fit and forget?)

It is for my small car 1.3L so I am looking for an all rounder tyre really.

thanks for your help!

Cheap, 75 quid, huh?

Was going to say Kumho KH31, but then you said £75 a corner budget and you could get 2 kumho for that sort of money.

I have similar requirements for 2 new fronts but for size 205/50/16, same recommendations still stand for that size?

ie. Michelin Pilot Primacy, Goodyear EfficientGrip, Continental Premium Contact 2?

can you get falken 452s in this size?
the V50 has Premium Contact 2s at 205/50 R16 and i'm really not impressed
although maybe i'm expecting too much..

I replaced some Goodyear NCT5s with the Conti PC2s and I think they're streets ahead. Quieter, grippier, better feedback. I expect the new Efficient/Duragrip ones are along the same "eco" lines as the NCT5s and thus would be inferior also :)

I always used to use Avon's on my MK5 Fiesta (15" 195-45)

Good price & performed well in all conditions compared with other tyres.

Mondeo Zetec by any chance?

Same boat, £200 for 2 tyres, balanced and tracking sorted is my budget.

The FK452 is a summer tyre, not all season.

Not available in that size, in fact there is very little choice in that particular size.

The only tyre listed by Goodyear for all season use in 185/60R15 is the Vector. EDIT: I lied, the EfficientGrip is available but they don't classify it as "all season".

Michelin show either the "Energy saver" for summer use or "Alpine" for winter use, there doesn't seem to be an "all season" choice.
