Ive just downloaded Speed fan and various other programs as I want to learn how to overclock....

My Speed fan temperatures currently between 28* and 45* except for Temp 3 which reads at 127*.... Can this be right? If so what can be done about it as it seems alarmingly hot..... and what exactly does Temp 3 represent?

<-------- Has stopped panicking!!!

Have to admit I was a tad alarmed at that temperature, to a noob like me it indicates that something is seriously wrong somewhere

Depends on the MB, speedfan should read temp1 as Tcase, sensor just under the cpu, temp2 as the sensor close to the chipset and temp3 as the case temp, away from all the other circuits - although some MBs have that sensor next to your VRM.

If your worried - use a glass thermometer and measure your chipset and the vrm's.
