I've not had any problems running modern games at mostly max settings (not full AA tho) on my 26" LG 1920x1200 monitor. Powered by a classic C2D E6600 @ 3.6Ghz.

Which is better? 2x8800GTS 640MB or a single GTX260?

Thanks!

Edit: That title should say GTS!

260 Uses less power - no potential problems with SLI support.

Performance wise I'd say they were slightly slower than a 260.

As Rroff says, the GTS may be a bit slower but you would have less heat/noise/power consumption and more VRAM with a GTX 260 :)

260 purely because you don't have to mess around with SLI profiles. I take it you have a spare 260 lying around, and not thinking about 'buying' a 260?

I have 2x8800GTS 640's at the moment. A mate wants to run 3 or 4 monitors but has a GTX260, he is open to a straight swap.

Worth it?

260 tbh. They work out roughly the same but the 260 is cooler, quieter, uses less powah, doesn't rely on driver support so much etc.
