Lanparty DFI Ultra-D motherboard
2x1GB Gskill HZ
X2 3800+ @2.8ghz

To this

XFX 650i Ultra
Intel Dual Core E2140 1.6Ghz
2 x 1GB OCZ 6400 Plat series DDR2 800 dual channel kit

I will probably look out for a Q6600 in the future.

Yes should be pretty decent boost if you clock the CPU to 3Ghz+ :)

If you plan on getting a Q6600 later bear in mind the 650i/680i chipsets dont clock them particularly well.

With the proce socket 939 stuff it fectching it shouldnt cost anything to do either

Go with an intel chipset, they're always rock solid, I prefer them to nvidia..

Also, why only 2gb? 4gb is way better, especially for W7

how in the hell did you get a 3800+ stable at 2.8ghz i struggled with 2.5 must have a mighty good chip there

Why are 939 prices high?
280 x 10 multi. 1T. Not sure on the volage, ill have a look tonight and post back on here

edit - What cpu upgrade options does the XFX 650i Ultra have? Is the Q6600 the best processor to go for in future?

Or a E6750? Is Q9650 socket 775?

Supply and demand lot of people use them in home theatre rigs and if something goe's they need a new one ram goe's quite high as do proccys

probably fetch at least £100 for cpu, ram, mobo maybe more if it's good ram and well branded mobo

Which begs the question - Why use 939 stuff in a home theatre? Why not new(er) stuff thats not expensive

Motherboard was/is one of the best 939 boards available and memory is Gskill HZ, which i think is pretty decent. Yay

some people don't want to upgrade the whole system if they can just get a new mobo or cpu. why pay £200-300 for a upgrade if u can just replace the cpu a 1/8th that amout

ram seems to be hitting the best prices of late i have 2 gig of corsair value select which is worth IMO a small fortune lol
i have sold quite abit of ram from old computers lately i just stick it in my current rig and memtest it overnight if it comes back clear i auction it mainly pc2700 ram

good thing 939 prices are high at the moment

what voltage u running and multi/cpu ldt

cpuz reports -

1.36v

stepping 2
revision JH-E6

3 latency
4 delay
4 pRT
8 tRAS
7 tRC
1T

I thought it was better to have lower numbers? I have seen newer ram is like 7-7-7-18 DDR3?
