Where to get a cheap, glass computer desk?

But with specific needs.

I currently have this monstrosity (6 years now, haha!)

Pic is 5 years old, computer is much nicer than that now. ;)

Now I'm getting a new place, and my pc is going to be in the living room area, so I really need something that looks a bit nicer, glass being the obvious choice.

Problem is that I now have a G11, and the above keyboard shelf is just enough for it and the mouse area I need.

I really want a pull out keyboard tray for tidiness, but all the cheaper glass desks I can find seem to have trays only big enough for a standard keyboard, with the mouse up on the main desk surface (WTF?).

Also, the only give total dimensions, not the measurements of the keyboard tray itself, so I'm a bit stuffed.

Any ideas on where to look beyond the Swedish and UK flat-pack places?

Thanks!

Furniture Village does some nice desks, if you've got one near by. Although, it depends on what your definition of 'cheap' is.

Ring your local glass manufacturing or glazing company.

They can put you in touch or quote for furniture glass. You might want to get a template if you want hole cutouts (for mounting your own keyboard tray or cable tidy).

It's going to be expensive at the edge will have to be polished and it's most likely going to be 6/10mm thick.

Beech/Oak aren't really going to match the living furniture though :(

Do you have glass couches? :)

Personally I'm not a fan of glass desks... They look cheap. And cheap ones look even cheaper. What about a nice kitchen table instead? Get a wireless keyboard and mouse to tidy things up.

How do keyboard trays work on a glass desk anyway... Surely you can just see through the desk to the keyboard below!

Tidiness was the wrong word, it saves space and is also lower, meaning I can line my arms up for the correct posture.

I'm so used to my current desk chair set up, and I want to keep it comfy for gaming.
