Hello there, I've had a 35 pound a month contract with Orange for over 3 years now.

The contract's not under my name, but is under my dad's name (Just for clarification)

On December the 28th, my Dad rang Orange to cancel my contract, the spokesperson said that under the "30 days notice" policy, my contract would be cancelled on the 28th of January.

My contact month starts on the 19th of every month, and they send the bill around the 25th.

Since my contract ends while in the next month, will they charge me the full 35 pound for that month, despite cancelling only 9 days into it?
If they do that, I'd rather get the full month, and give the sim to my GF to use lol.

I think they'll pro-rata it and either Direct Debit the full amount and refund the difference after your contract is cancelled or simply charge a lower amount for your final payment.

I went insane and took a £45 P/M contract out in april.

Now im jobless.

Phoned them up in November but i had to wait at least 6months so ive to phone them again next week. I hope i can get it cancelled lol

Happened to me on O2. Explained the situation and they wouldn't budge. Instead, just had to reduce the contract price by a fiver every month till it became more manageable.

What Would happen if i told them i had no money at all to pay the bill? ( and cancel the Direct debit ).

Sorry for Hi-jack.

Sorry for Hi-jack.

My phone broke, and I actually had no phone, I told Orange flat out I wasn't paying for the contract, they said "Your dad will get a bad credit rating"
His reply "Sounds good to me"

They then attempted to threaten with law enforcement..

I hate Orange with a passion.

Why wouldn't you pay for the contract? Seeing as you problably had the phone free... (or at the least subsidised).

I'd been on the contract over 18 months, I'd changed phone, and they'd never told me I was stuck with them, the phone broke, I had NO phone, yet they expected me to buy a new phone, to pay for the contract I wasn't using..

Well, yeah...

You're buying the contract. The phone you get with it is no more than an incentive.

But shouldn't I have a years warranty on the phone from Orange?
If I couldn't use the contract, it's illogical to make me pay for it..

Either way, they ripped me off a bunch of times..

You took out the contract and agreed to pay it.

You're not paying only if you have a phone, the phone is an incentive to get you on the contract.

To realliterate, I've had the sim for 36 months in total.
I got it with a W880i, it broke within 7 days, they replaced it, my new W880i lasted 4 months, so I used it silent for a while.
Got a W890i when I "upgraded" phones (And got tied back in without them telling me), that phone ceased working after 5 months, I had to find a phone to use.. They refused to help me out.

You get the standard 1 years warranty with mobile phones, if it breaks within that period it is Orange's or the appropriate Service Providers responsibility to arrange for repair under warranty. If someone on the phone tells you otherwise tell them they are wrong and you want to speak to a senior member of staff.

Outside of the 12 months, it's your lookout unless you take out the care package/insurance.
