I've just finished watching season 1&2 of this, and its absolutely brilliant. I can't believe they axed it, its inspired comedy.

Anyone else watched it, and could anyone recommend me something similar?
 
one of the best programs ever, however I am glad that they are not making any more as that makes it more special, there are too many programmes ruined by stretching them out over series.

off the top of my head, no I cannot recommend anything like it as I don't think there is anything.... maybe the the office: an American workplace (which is sadly very underrated, from series 2 onwards watch and laugh) but that's just because I like it. Some other programmes I find funny:

15 storeys high
We are not animals
Mighty Boosh

try and watch these if there is no other suggestions, i missed out the obvious stuff like Spaced and Alan Partridge because... well its obvious. none of those suggestions are much like arrested development though making the whole post null and void.
 
I only just finished watching it based on a recommendation from an American friend.

I though most of it was pap. The last 3rd of series one and the first half of series 2 are very very good. The rest is pretty dull.

Its hard to care about any of the characters, apart from buster none of them realy develope. Most get on your **** rather than entertain.

The story had no where really to go and the final episode is rubbish. There was supposed to be a film, but no one really cares.

I'm currently watching through No angels and thats 50 times as funny and has better characters and stories.

Season 3 of Arrested Development is fairly similar ;)

If you like Arrested I'd recommend Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm, also Reno 911

Never really got on with it although I admit I was only watching odd episodes here and there rather than properly watching the series.

As for a recommendation, it's not a series but Office Space is fairly similar sort of humour so might be worth picking up if you can find it cheaply.
 
Thats the lot seen, not bad, seen better, not sure how the movie will work out, another series would be better I bet.
G.O.B is a legend though! Cocka Caw Cocka Caw!! lmao
 
I need to watch it again.
I watched the whole lot in about a week whilst at uni.
Most of it sunk in but it definitely deserves another watch when i have time.

Tis a great show. On the last disk of the final season, whilst it's not as funny as the first two seasons, it still is very good.
 
This is a great show, I'm in the middle of watching season 1 and the characters are great. I think jobe has to be the funniest by far at the moment.

I thought it went out on a high, the way the Wee Brain gag stetched out over the whole season was the funniest thing on TV ever. :cool:

OT, Modern Family on sky atm is sorta similar, humour not as dark. But it is surprisingly sharp for a 'family friendly' show.

I say 'family friendly' because I once tried to introduce some of my (female) cousins to Arrested Development. I'd forgotten about all the 'Les Cousins Dangereux' stuff especially in season1. Made for some uncomfortable viewing. They think I'm a little weird. ;)
 
I'VE MADE A HUGE MISTAKE.

Watched it years ago and loved it, just convinced my gf to re-watch with me and we're half way through season 2, she adores it and I'm enjoying it immensly the second time around, can't stop laughing.

Pretty much as good as it gets
 
It is by far and a way, in my opinion, the best written sitcom I have ever seen. It is also the funniest.

I have never watched a show with so many subtle jokes mixed in with a great story and ensemble cast. It really is genius.
