Just picked up an Antec 1200... awesome! :D

But...

HELP... has anyone got a corsair h50 fitted in the antec 1200? Which way have you got it because I cannot fit the rad to the top-rear fan as its too close to the top fan, it won't go. If I try fit it to the lower-rear fan the gfx card won't go in.

HELP! Quick reply needed!

:o

Atm the gfx card does not go into the top PCI-E slot, is it ok to fit the gfx card in the second PCI-E slot though?

It won't go into the top one which I normally use because the fan fitted in the Antec case, to which I am attaching the rad, is simply too close to the gfx card slot. Theres about 0.5cm overlap.

Never used the second PCI-E slot for the gfx card but should that be ok?

Anyone???

will it not fit in either way round? ie the rad hoses at the top or the bottom on the top fan. Im sure I saw a thread with the h50 fitted to the top fan in one of these cases but with the rad hoses at the bottom if you see what i mean

I get exactly what you mean. :)

The side with the rad hoses is a fraction wider then the other side. I've tried attaching it to both fans, and tried attaching the rad both ways but it simply will not go into the top-rear fan as its too close to the big 200mm fan.

And if I get it onto the bottom-rear fan, which is easily do-able, then the gfx card does not go into pci-e slot 1.

Many ppl must have fitted the h50 in the antec 1200, I think I am doing something very obviously wrong :o

Any pics of h50 in antec 1200 by ocuk'ers?

I am using a netbook atm whilst the build is going on slowing... I will keep refreshing this page to see if anyone comes up with anything... :)

That pic baffles me as there is also a soundcard fitted below the rad, THEN the gfx card.

My gfx card is huge yes, but then so is that 295, maybe my mobo layout is different?

Asus P7P55D EVO, the PCI-E slot is very high up!

Wait a sec, that top pic... the rad is not even in line with the fan holes

Gonna go back and check to see if I can also do that in mine.... lol

EDIT: Thats it, the fans have extra small holes which are not in the corners, you have to use them! I knew it was gonna be something blindingly obvious!!!

Thank you for the picture sir! :)

cheap water cooling aint worth it,i get same temps with my lapped cpu/true,water cooling only worth it when you spend big bucks going custom, you see big benefits

Im mistaken, there are no holes there its just a black circle, looked like a hole until I took the rad out. It's a black circle where you can possibly make a hole into but the only holes are the ones in the 4 corners.

Ok, going by that top pic, I can use the 2 bottom corners of the upper fan to get the top part of the rad in. This leaves the bottom part of the rad loose, I wonder how he has connected that, I am assuming he made extra holes in the bottom fan that he could then screw into.

EDIT:

I have tightened the screws quite hard, thats the top 2 on the rad, which are fitted onto the bottom of the top fan. It's secure enough and it does the job, don't think I will need to use all 4 screws there tbh.

Leaves plenty of space for the gfx card now. :)

perhaps a cable tie in the whole closest to the mobo so its not seen thru the side window just to help secure it

altho looking at that picture it looks like he has screws in the top end and the bottom

By using 2 screws only, I could also now attach it to the top fan. I might experiment abit more tonight as I can't finish off the build anyway, I need a 8 pin extension cable for PSU. With the PSU fitted at the bottom, the 8pin doesn't reach the very top of the mobo as it's obstructed by the gfx card... which now I'm glad to say... fits. :p

All are pass-through molex.

There is also a fan holder and filter installed in the side panel, with no fan, so you can add one there if you want. And also another fan holder inside the case which is attached to the hdd caddy.

I might get a fan controller and add the additional 2 fans, I've already got an extra fan on the h50 rad (as shown in the first pic you posted) so I want those all on the lowest setting.

Check your PSU cables and mobo layout before you get the case to determine whether or not you will need extension cables. If you intend to hide the cables round the back you will probably need them.

You have probably heard this before a lot but there is a massive amount of space inside the case to work in. It really is awesome.

yeah one of the reasons I chose it, will be my first build and dont fancy rattling around in a tiny case when Im going to be nervous enough as it is :D I watched some videos of a guy doin a build in one and he cut all the fan cables and added extensions to them and powered them all through a connector block so he didnt have loads of molex cables in there.
Looked great and pretty easy to do but ill leave doin that as I can guarantee if I did the psu would be dead or something and I would then have no warranty :D

here ya go
