Just put a deposit down on a dirt cheap 106 phase 2 for the gf (her first car). It has the original head unit in. I've orded the facisa adaptor for it ready to put new head unit in. What I'm not sure about is the iso adaptor. Do these need them? as I can't find a 1996 onwards adaptor anywhere.

I'm starting to think it don't need one. Just don't want to have to rush off to halfords for one lol. Would rather get all the bits sorted now lol.

Cheers Firestar

Saxo Mk2 (VTR if it makes any difference) here. It doesn't not need any wiring adapters - has as standard a nice normal ISO Power Supply Connector & ISO Connector which will plug into the aftermarket headunits harness fine. However you have to swap Yellow and Red wires..... that's the Switched Live & Permanent Live to stop it losing it's settings when the ignitions turned off.

I'd imagine a 106 phase II is exactly the same as a Mk2 Saxo..

Cheers lads. I've fitted a head unit to a phase I 106. Just wasn't sure about the phase II :)

Doesn't it depend more on the stereo that you put in rather than the actual car?

My Corsa needed one for the sony unit I put in, however the Alfa didn't need one for the newer Sony head unit.

you dont need an iso adaptor for that car. It already has ISO's as standard.

You also don.t need the fascia adaptor. The stereo will fit in just as well without it.

You will need an antenna adaptor though. din-iso adaptor is the one you need.

Champion mate :)

To guy above you. All head units I know of use standard iso connection

This one don't lol. I can pick one up for next to nothing though. Might actually have one sitting about.

Should have to car with me in next couple of days so ill get to fitting it then. Hope the original speakers are working lol. cba to get new speakers also :/

No, it doesn't. There is a lead which goes from the back of the head unit which is usually supplied, which plugs into an iso connector from the car. I did have a JVC HU ages ago which you could plug an ISO from a car straight into though.

I stand corrected - apologies!
