50 Reasons to fight Kraft
Wow - just look at the list of British companies taken over by foreign firms in recent years. Pretty soon we're not going to have any companies left - no wonder unemployment is rising so much
If companies weren't taking over, and keep a good eye on that list and see which have shut production/shops/business down in the UK and which haven't, we'd be seeing more unemployment. Big business is taxed so heavily here that profit is "almost" non existant, becoming global brands subsidises the costs for lots of things they buy to sell. Theres a very real possibility without companies being taken over, some of them at a least, they'd simply be gone by now.
Theres NO REASON to shut down production in the uk, having companies from other countries own business and produce things here is fantastic for our economy because it means foreign business has a vested interest in the UK doing well. Its only when we see the chance to tax the crap out of them that we push them to close factories and move production abroad to cheaper places. There is no need for that at all, as for who in the links here, are quoted as saying its bad, Mandelson? If he thinks its bad, its got to be good for the economy
Think about it this way, if not a single business in the UK had foreign owners, what part of the world and their economy would give a flying smeg if every company in the UK folded? No one, they'd all price them out of business and run in and take over the scraps with wholey foreign owned business's with all the profits being channeled out of the country. Foreign investment here helps secure our economy as the owners from a huge range of countries all have a financial stake in how well the UK is doing.
Coke, and hundreds/thousands of companies produce different products for different regions, because people like different things, truly shockingly. The reason to buy a company like cadburies is for their recipes and their production this side of the pond. Meaning to compete in the UK and Europe rather than spend millions testing hundreds of different products over years to get the right flavours for the market, they have the recipes all ready and the factories to produce it.
The VERY REASON to buy Cadburies, is to have an base of operations and a catalogue of European tastes here, meaning they would have zero intention of shutting down, but want to expand into Europe and use existing facilities here as the base of operations to do that.
This take over pretty much secures Cadburies long term future, one that previous was losing at plant shutdowns and job losses, but now won't be. But will be looking at probable eventual expansion of production(as they'll be most likely going after the Euro market, not the tiny Uk market) with more backing so long term its likely more production and more jobs which are all good for the UK economy, but don't let that worry you.
Have a go at the American's and their horrible flavours and complain that companies take over our companies......... and stop them going bust and enable them to continue to compete.
