3 * Iiyama B2409HDS : Can OC help? :-)

Hello,

This is my first post here, having lurked for a good while. I'm putting together the best PC I can afford, with a budget of about £2k over as many months.

I have a problem, it's the monitors!! I approached a particular supplier with a higher price (than OC) but with whom I'd received excellent service in the past. So I bought from them.

What turned up were three B2409HDS monitors, but all of wildly varying serial numbers, and when placed together they didn't match. Furthermore, one of the panels (the oldest) was covered in pressure marks. The firmwares were also different.

With the refund now processed, I'm in the market for 3 monitors. I know this sounds silly, but delicately unpacking 3 monitors, setting them up, and then delicately packing them all back up again takes a good few hours. So I don't want to be here again, and I think it's a bit unreasonable for a supplier not to apply some common sense. It annoys me, and it loses them money, just because someone didn't bother to think. I paid MORE specifically to avoid that, which they then knocked down and added free shipping. What was the point?

Q : Could OverClockers supply 3 Iiyama ProLite B2409HDS monitors which are 'matched' and have close serial numbers please? If you can get this right then I will be genuinely impressed (and I'll likely buy bits of my other kit from you too).

:)

With many thanks,

Ali :-)

That's precisely what I did last time. ;-) The Sales people were brilliant and gave me a great discount. When it came to the goods arriving it was a different story. (not OC were talking about).

Call me cautious this time around. Ideally I'd like for someone to notice and say, "Yes, we can do that, call Dave, he knows about it, he'll take care of you." And then the monitors arrive and I proudly show them off.

I get to drool over my monitors, and OC get some nice easy sales.

Buying 3 identical monitors is appearing not so straight forward. I've just got off the phone with another online company. No one can be bothered. You've got the Sales people who take the orders, and then it appears on the screen somewhere else. It's difficult to find someone to actually take control and do something. I have £600 of my hard earned cash in my hand and I really want to give it to you. :)

166. :)

In my experience OcUK go that extra mile in the customer service department. Give them a ring or post in the customer service forum :)

Good luck :)

They wont do it. They dont have the time to check the products to find you certain versions etc. Maybe if you offer a tenner for the check they might but its a long shot.

Thanks to all.

Nowwwwwww you're getting me. :)

I don't even need them to necessarily check beforehand. But an eagerness and willingness goes a long way. What shocks me is how some companies treat it in the same fashion as buying a Mars Bar. I'm not rude of difficult in any way, but there's so many people working for these companies that just couldn't give a toss whatsoever. It's bad business.

Here, let me dig out one of the images of the first time... It's hard to see in the image, and I had to take it a few times with different camera settings to capture it.

The dark patches REALLY were there, and it was terrible with a white software development page or when browsing.

The marks are in the lower right quadrant, and the upper left quadrant. Well they were allover the whole panel!! You can see it. The one on the right is uniform and plain, like it should be. All I want is three monitors like the one on the right. :begs:

I will have a run down to the warehouse in the morning and see if I can 3 that are next to each other.

To be honest though it still won't help with the usual TFT panel lottery.

Many apologies for not replying to this. Other priorities came up.

Thank you for replying Slackworth!! :)

Yes, a TFT lottery. Other suppliers voiced the same. It TRULY stinks!! :( It's an AWFUL ADVERT for manufacturers. Especially when the suppliers are left to sort out the problems. Iiyama did NOT want to know. My brilliant letter to HQ was lost in the post...

Back in the days of massive 25" and 28" CRTs Iiyama had one of the best reputations. We're talking 10/15-years ago.
