My main musical taste is mainstream rock. My fav artists are

Foo Fighters
Muse
Them Crooked Vultures
QOTSA
Biffy clyro
Kasabian
RHCP

I think im pretty diverse in tastes and enjoy other genres like old skool hip hop and so on.

Another genre i realy like to listen to but i don't realy know many artists is house/dance so can people spec me anything that's close to the sound of

Daft Punk
Justice
MSTRKRFT
deadmau5
Symian Mobile disco
Soulwax

Thats as far as i have gotten into this genre. If there is anything close to those artists i would like to listen

thanks :)

Tiesto is fantastic. Ferry Corsten, David Guetta's classics are also slower and more housey/trancey.

well im fuzzy on the genres just match what other artists i liked. so far havent herd anything id like to listen to on a regular basis

All the artists Guest2 listed above are trance (though Cosmic Gate are hardtrance). Although Deadmau5 can't be put into a single genre, he certainly is not trance.

an easy start is to get the latest Gatcrasher Trance Allbum 1990 to 2009 (or something similar). Its got bucketloads of the top quality, mega tracks, remixed in a modern more fresh wrapping. Cant stop play it at the mo!

Yes, i suppose Cosmic gate are on the edge of being hard trance. However still not on the lines of Mark EG, Scot Project, Alex Kidd, Dark by Design, Proteus. (some of my favourite DJs) Then you get go a bit futher into the realms of hardstyle, (Zany, Lady Dana, Showtek..) then hardcore/gabba, Angerfist, Outcast, Promo, Vince...

Some of these mix with rock and i suppose a bit of metal like Proteus and LAB4. Personally Proteus is my favourite DJ, for both performance and music

www.djproteus.com

Proteus made Cally Gage look and sound boring at Frantic 12 and Andy Whitby just sounded like pure cheese

I was so into rap and metal/rock in my youth but the first time I was in an afterhours club back in Canada and had a life changing experience when the DJ mixed in Scot Project's O(overdrive), I knew I was home.

Geez that sounds cheesy but it's really the exact point my life changed drastically.

My tastes have changed a lot since then though. I listen to breaks, electro and dubstep almost exclusively now but I think I'm going to have to listen to some old sets by Scot Project, Cosmic Gate, Eddie Halliwell, etc..
