This strach doesn't look too bad but you can feel it with you nail so it's not going to be polished out. I'm thinking a smart repair of some sort.

This is my main issue. For a car with 40,000 its shockingly bad :( Am I right in thinking that it's pointless filling these in and just get a respray instead?

Finally this is the same on both doors. Again these are down to the metal in some parts so maybe a smart repair?

I'm sorry for the poor quality pictures, taken just and I have no idea how to use the camera yet.

That's shockingly bad. The bonnet would probably benefit from a respray then a clear vinyl wrap.

I was afraid it was going to need a respray, I've read many stories on the forums where the paint match has been pretty poor after a respray.

Just get the bonnet resprayed. It'll look great afterwards. I spent ages fiddling with chips etc etc but once the entire bonnet was resprayed it looked fantastic.

Also your numberplate is illegal.

Yeah I guess thats going to be the easiest option. I'll pop to vauxhall at get a quote friday.

I don't care.

Would Dr Colorchips be ok for use on the door edge?

If you are worried about a colour match/quality of the job, I'd take the car to a decent bodyshop rather than your vaux dealer.

I'm quite picky and used to go to the local porsche approved bodyshop - it just so happened they had the best reputation around.

When I've had bonnets painted in the past, the bodyshops have painted the wings too.

I used a Stratstone Jag garage before on my previous car and the finish was spot on. I'd rather pay more get a spot on job. I'll pop there and get a quote.

My Nissan bonnet looks like that as well :(

Looking at getting it resprayed soon as there are too many to touch in.

Why is it illegal? Because the GB bit has VXR there?

That scratch looks like nothing, I'll bet it will polish out.

I'd have the front repainted though, mine looked like that only worse. I had other problems at the rear and on the roof too, so to eliminate colour match problems had a complete repaint. A good shop will be able to match it extremely well though.

Pick your bodyshop carefully, I decided to go to a bodyshop instead of chipsaway for a bumper scuff and they were ****. Wish i'd have got it done with chips away now!

What makes you think that Chipsaway would make a better job of it?

If you have the bonnet done they will blend it with the tops of the wings so expect to pay for that too. The scratch should polish out, you could probably get that out yourself without too much bother.

Because my local franchise guy had 11 years experience and had positive reviews but I was put off by the fact that the entire bumper wouldn't be re-lacquered.
