Is this TV worth getting with a 5yr warranty for the price of:

£520.

Can any other TV beat it at this price? Main uses Blu-Ray and Gaming (PC).

No Plasma suggestions please (using it with pc so image retention is a no no).

Judging by some reviews on the internet. That TV is great value for money. The image quality is very good but the sound quality lacks.

I haven't seen any other good TVs for that price.

Hmmm the b650 is noticably better, especially motion and it costs £700.

I'd get that instead personally :( it does sound a reasonable price though...

I've got the B650 and it's fantastic although a fair bit more than the B550 :)

Damn it, just when I had nearly convinced myself. :(

Trouble is that the b650 is getting out of my price range for what is essentially a luxury good...

Ahhh indecisions.

I have the LE32B550 and it's pretty good in my uneducated opinion.

Cheers thanks, you seem like a sensible guy so your opinion carries weight :D

Just going to up and buy it, hopefully my expectations won't be dashed (thats what you get for wistfully reading reviews on £1.8k tv's :o

Got one just before chrimbo and is the mutts when fed a nice HD signal.
SD stuff out my old old (scart) sky box isnt too hot thou but tbh thats to be expected.
You might allso get lucky and get one with older firmware in which you can enable divx/mkv playback off a USB mem stick shoved in the side. (jump into the engineer menu and enable a couple of options etc)
Im too scared to downgrade the firmware in mine thou just incase i brick it :)
Allso the USB stick playback thing doesnt deal with any sort of DTS audio which is no use to me so not really worth my while.
The speakers in it are a bit pants too but like lots i will never use them and audio is dealt with by a AV amp.
I payed £538 iirc standard sammy warrenty.

Probably be better putting a photo of the receipt up (obviously with things blanked out like retailer, cards etc).

i have copy and pasted this from a well known website and is brand new, your asking someone to pay £519 for a 3 month old, second hand one with 5 year warranty (which may not be valid in a 2nd persons name / address)

now your saying you paid more than £500 for it.

does john lewis accept warranty return under another persons name and address from the original receipt? i dont think there is anyone in their right mind who would buy a second hand one with a warranty that may or may not work for more than what you can get it brand new.

This is just LOL

rumbled.

However If the warranty is transferable then its still an average buy. Although I would still knock £100 off for it being second hand alone.

I suppose it only takes one.
