The new Radeon prices are disgusting, wait for Nvidia to release some competition to drive the prices down. I am riding it out with my crusty old 4850 until Fermi release or price drop.

5850 are not set to drop. If the dollar stays at is your best bet will be the sapphire 5850 and stock is flying in tonight.

im not having another nvidia card ever!

i also cant really wait until prices drop cause i only have a laptop in safe mode atm, luckilly it is usable on the net

i dont wanna spend any more than 220 on a 5850 cause im already over budget lol

Not that Nvidia have anything to compare with ATI, but why dont you want an Nvidia card ?

BTW you can pick up a 5850 for that sort of money.

put it down to a grudge, the reason my laptops out of order is it was shipped with nvidia gpus that were faulty!

i can find a few places but everywhere is out of stock

and the 587o at cheapest is 300 exc delivery

I'm not going say price's and its hard to put a value on customer service, but look around the lesser shops ! what you are asking for is on offer and in stock.

Just don't expect the kind of customer service you get from OcUK.

Why is everyone moaning about the price of the AMD cards lately?

The 5850 is a steal at just over £200 - faster than any single-GPU card from NVidia, including the £300 GTX285. There's really no pleasing some people.

My problem, and I guess others too, is not so much the price being high, but the price being higher than release day.

I can't be certain, but I believe I'd have purchased one by now if they were this price at release day, I'm only waiting for prices to reach £200 because this was what they were at release day, and seeing as the Sapphire 5870s have reached their original price, I think I'll hold out a little longer.

Unless of course the 5830 is a good price in which case I'll buy one of these when they finally get released :D
