Battlefield BC2 looking dam sweet

I don't mind locked FOV as long as it's locked to something reasonable between 85 and 95. But you can bet your ass it's going to be locked at 60-70 even on PCs because of consoles and that's just another reason (first being lack of server files) to skip this otherwise great game completely.

I hope I'm wrong and the beta shows me a locked FOV of let's say 90, 90 is a good number for everyone.

If its at 90 im fine with it, but the higher the fov the more rendering that has to be done and the harder it is on systems, im betting as you are that it'll probably be 70ish to accomadate lower end systems.

Is there any word if they are going to have it on steam in time for the beta? I would rather get all my PC games through that now, saves the hassel of patches which do my nut in (shudders at thought of BF2142 NS bs u had to go through).

Theyre meant to be updating the blogsite with news of the beta and participating parties, so far no new info. Literally 6 days away from the play.com offer starting as well.

Ditto. Especially about the Northern Strike malarkey.

BC2 is not DX11 Its dx9 + dx10 as its not using Frostbite engine 2, just 1.x ;)

Might want to recheck your info:

DICE's Johan Andersson also tweeted with a confirmation saying "Yes AMD are correct, we are working together on DX11 benefits for BFBC2 in Frostbite 1. Frostbite 2 is our future DX11+ engine"

Also this IS frostbite 2.0. According to the 360 interview

How much has the Frostbite engine been improved?

2.0 is the name we’ve given to the engine – people love numbers, I think. I would say we’re just scratching the surface of what we’re going to be able to do with the Frostbite engine and destruction, and this is the second big title to come out on it. If people follow us closely we have a lot of our TNT guys and they go to a lot of developers conferences and they did a presentation about Frostbite 2.0. We’re really focused on the engine and making sure it’s a good as it can be.

I still can't believe that with only 7 days to go (and indeed nearly 2 weeks after a DICE dev said PC screen shots imminent) this is the only known PC SS, which incidentally looks like a small FOV

With GVD saying that all DICE were no longer going to post in their own forums and use twitter/blogs as the sole form of correspondence and their continued dodging of questions regarding PC FOV, My spider senses are saying its most likely 60, hope I'm wrong but I'll eat the internet if I am.

Looks like they've confirmed that the PC FOV is locked at 60 :(

Ouch so severely wrong i think you deserve some more abuse. Maybe even a ban from this thread. I mean not doing research before you post on OCUK?! Madness utter sheer madness. I'm going to have to have a sit down with a cup of tea to get over this.
