Best Tasting Drink To Get You Drunk.

I'm perfectly happy when not drinking at all, or when enjoying a single bottle of a nice wine, or when drinking quite a bit... but I enjoy all three of those, each for different reasons. So the reason I get drunk is because I enjoy it (not that I don't enjoy being sober, it's just enjoyable in a different way).

There's no need to get drunk, I just want to (sometimes). I'm not trying to escape an awful life of misery, or cover up a myriad of character flaws, or anything like that... I merely enjoy everything it results in.

I don't think FF really meant you to be honest.

There are people in this country, and it's appearing to be an overwhelming amount of them, who associate "fun" and "social life" with getting drunk and seem to believe they come hand in hand.

To the majority of people "going out" means to simply go and get drunk at a club.

When I "go out" I'm going the cinema, a restaurant, shopping or on a trip with friends.

The people who have a hard time understanding this are the problem.

The amount of people that have said to me "Do you go out? What do you do?" I tell them and they say "no I mean drinking" and then act disgusted when I say I don't drink.

Kinda pathetic really.

Fair dos. It's just not my cup of tea at all. I like being in control of my faculties, and as such never drink excessively. I have of course gone OTT on occaision, but not with the intention of getting drunk for the sake of getting drunk.

Being drunk is a by-product of socialising and enjoying a few drinks, it shouldn't be the focus point or a target to achieve IMO. Obviously being slightly tipsy is easy to happen, but getting blind drunk takes effort, money and frankly I find it quite pointless (from a health, but also enjoyment point of view... who likes hangovers?!).

My slight disdain is that of people actively WANTING to get drunk, and actively getting drunk for a laugh and because that's what they do. I just don't understand it. I love a good wine, some beers and Guinness as well as some spirits - but I enjoy them slowly and to enjoy the drink. However I don't drink so that I can be drunk, it seems like a waste of life on this planet to be in such a state IMO.

title of thread

Best Tasting Drink To Get You Drunk.

While literally speaking, yes that is the title of the thread, the OP however is seeking ways of getting intoxicated with as little bad "tastes" going on.

Personally, I don't see alcohol any differently to other drugs really.

Waste of money, messes your body up and your mind too.

If out somewhere, whisky and a guiness. Not in the same glass.

If doing the generic student predrinking I recommend the following. A bottle of tescos budget whisky, 70cl. Two bottles of tesco ginger ale, one for you, one for a friend. Drink some of your bottle, top it up with the whisky. Repeat until the bottle runs empty. If a heavy drinker you can substitute ginger wine for ginger ale.

The nice touch is that it starts off dilute, and becomes more aggressive as your taste buds give up. Pleasant taste, about a fiver each.

JonJ8679, if you don't mind me asking, how old are you?
Serious question, just all of your posts are well structured and you have an excellent knowledge of Computers in general, but you said you were a student. :)

I do find it odd when you see a "student" who is normal, a lot of them are really immature and act like they're in their early teens.

Pear cider, bulmers is okay if there's nothing else. Kopperburg is pretty much everywhere now, a bit sweet though. My favourite is kiss, you can get it in cans in quite a few places nowadays.

If ciders not your thing then pick a nice bottle of red wine that's on offer somewhere. One bottle of wine for £6 will be far nicer will get you more drunk then the two or three bottles of beer you get for the same price.

OP is clearly a student, and when your a student you will go out your way to get as drunk as possible for as little as possible before hitting the clubs.
:p

:D

Only way to do it, the drinks round here are dear as hell in pubs but even more so in clubs.

Everyone gets tipsy (not throwing up drunk ) have a great time and then hit the pubs before ending up in a club.

OP is clearly not a student. No way the OP is above the age of 14. Which students honestly speak or word a question like that? And which students would ask a question like this on the internet rather than talk to friends / flatmates etc.?
