puppy house training question

Ive got a 5 month old border collie female who i managed to get house trained after the first few nights, she still needs to go for a pee and sometimes a poop through the night anywhere from 1-4 in the morning.

ive just been reading around on the net and some people say that they should be able to go through the night with out doing anything at that age, the thing is she sleeps in my room so i hear her about at the door so i just get up and let her out, now am i doing the wrong thing as she will see that she can go when she wants and isnt forced to hold it in

my mother used to breed full pedigree cocker spaniels,i had the pleasure of looking after them at one time while my mother was away on Holiday with my Dad,they did nothing but poop all over the place!i dont think its a problem for a dog to need to the toilet at such a young age,if your so concerned then put some news paper down on the floor,as the dog gets older it will learn to be toilet trained,just like my dog is

we used training pad with her the first few nights and we gradually took them away and she was fine, was just wondering if i was doing wrong by her and would have problems later on if she wasnt made to hold on for a toilet

nar dogs are very clever and learn quickly once they mature a little

Nip it in the bud early mate otherwise your spend the next 12 years getting up in the middle of the night letting her out.
