GTX 295

I dislike their driver setup, I don't get on with the AA implementation and find I can get away with less with an nVidia card and have the same effect. I've had problems with them and multi monitor in the past which going by the forum posts lately they are still lacking in that area and a good few other reasons... I'm not saying they are good/bad on this account I just don't find they work for me personally.

ps.. i must say that i do find the colours of a Nivida card are nicer then an ATi
and that in the past i have had to constantly adjust the settings with ATi. With Nivida, all i have ever done is plug it in and play.

but all that aside... im looking forward to giving this a try, pacman should look great with these cards
 
That's surprising as most people are the other way around regarding the colour settings.
I normally need to crank up the Hue a tad on nVidia chips.

Best of luck with pacman. With those cards your framerate will be in the 100's so I expect an impeccable score!

Edit: Or if you really want to cancel the order and get 285's instead, because despite the amount of posters agreeing ati is the way to go, you are still unsure.

Ok Rroff, forgive me for asking as I'm a little unsure of you intention. Are you trying to provide a philosophical education?

If so, I might add that a person is usually statistically better off going with the crowd/trend in terms of opinion/action, however like most rules there are exceptions, and it's these exceptions of course that leave your comment technically correct but also unhelpful in this instance.
 
Wait for Fermi.

You are spending a lot on GPUs, why not make sure you are getting the best around?
If nothing else it may just end up being cheaper.
 
all i never see when i look around is the Nivida vs ATi battles..

its like spectrum vs commodore all over again!

i just simply want a fast card

Depends if the OP can wait till about june before there is any REAL availability.
Prices before that will likely be extremely high for the highest end fermi.
