Hey,

Looking for some skiing pants (trousers). Can anyone recommend any for a budget of £70? I'd prefer to keep it a bit lower though if I can. I don't want to be ripped off by just paying for the name when there's the possibility of getting very good gear for a much cheaper price.

What's Trespass stuff like? Same question for Dare2b and Columbia.

Where are you going skiing?

If its somewhere its not too cold you don't have to invest in loads on a jacket because most likely (I know I do) you end up just taking it off.

France. My dad already has a jacket so using his. I want to do skiing as a hobby when I get back otherwise I'd lend my gf's brother's trousers.

Well if you are planning to have it as a hobby then it must be better to invest it proper stuff right away :)

I have always found Helly Hansen to be good. Had it for years! I'm not sure if you can get it in all sports shops here but I know you can buy online some places.

Trespass are very good, they sponsor the british ski team. Colombia are good, but I haven't heard of the other one. I would get Trespass though. Remember to take goggles!
Where abouts in france, meribel, val thorens, les menuire, les arcs?

I'd have said that Columbia were the best 'name' there but Trespass do have some decent gear. Provided it has decent waterproofing (~5000mm), breathability and fully/critically taped seams then as long as it fits you should be fine.

Les Arcs :D

The three I've got it down to are:

Dare2b Fallback Ski Pant - £34.99 - [ link ]

Columbia Titanium Mens Balkhash Drift Pant - £52.49 - [ link ]

Trespass Buckeye - £69.99 - [ link ]

I'm going to check TK Maxx again because I saw a few Trepass stuff there the other day. Favouring the middle because I prefer internal gaiters over the ones which have elastic under the boot.

Might checkout Cheshire Oaks this weekend too.

Trespass are for snowboarding
Colombia have belt loops which I would use, although the Dar2b are the cheapest.

Personally I would get the Trespass because I snowboard as well, and for the price you know you're not going to get cold. If your not the greatest of skiiers and will be spending some time lying on your back in the snow then you will regret not spending that extra £20 for the right equitment when your ass is completly frozen. £20 out in Les Arcs is like 4 pints of beer anyway, so make sure you get the right stuff now rather than having to emergency buy gear out in the resort because it's like 3 times the price, and then some!

Wish I was going skiing, grrrrr, I'm sat at home revising for an exam tomorrow! Oh noes :(
