Hi all been using my trusty BFG 8800GT now for nearly two years and with new cards seeming to come out every week i have decided to change it.

Im looking to get away from Nvidia cards so fancy a ATI one.

I do not game as much as i used too but still want a card with decent performance. Just got a crossfire board so maybe something i could pair up a little later. I have seen reviews of people saying ATI cards running a lot quieter and cooler is this true?

Been looking at the 5750 cards and 4870 and was wondering which would be best to go for?

Thank you

They do look good. Thought they were a lot more expensive than the two i was looking at but they are not. Maybe your on to a winner there. Does it matter which one to go for as i would just pick the cheapest?

Thanks

well first of all im guessing you are running windows 7 so dx 11 may be a factor you might want to consider but if you are not on windows 7 and do not plan to install it at all then a 4XXX card may be ok however about which card you buy sometimes depends on the warratny and etc etc :D

Yeah im on windows 7. I think i might be best off going for a dx 11 card. Might see me out the next few month until something else is released.

if u can wait then just wait for the nvidia cards to come out then

you can either get one of those or profit from the slight decrease in ATi prices :D

^^^

This guy is delusional if he thinks nvidia are going to release a <£200 card any time soon.
5830 may be an option at the beginning of feb if you fancy a bigger step up in performance, although it will probably be around £150-£170 ?

+1

March for the high-end Nvidia cards at the earliest.

I heard rumours of Q2 for their mainstream cards.

Well from what i have seen and read most high end Nvidia cards cost a fortune, are very loud and run very hot. Am i right?
