Well, this morning, sat at the lights minding my own business just after the lights had turned to red, and a BMW comes screeching up and smacks into the back of me :(

Driver has admitted full liability to both me and the police on scene, then spent 3 hours in a locked position on this bed thing with a neck and head brace, x rays all clear, just bad whiplash and a sore hip.

Bike how ever, rear wheel bucked in and tail smashed :(

Good news, just spoke to my insurance (H&R bike insurance) and wow, what a brilliant service, very helpful, polite and a small team so very personal touch as the guy on the phone I was talking to was walking round to other teams confirming stuff instead of the old "I will send a email and get back to you".

Waiting for the bike hire guys to call me to sort out picking the bike up which is on the side of the road atm, I got the keys thank god lol and the solicitors to call regarding medical claim.

Will keep everyone updated.

Glad your relatively ok mate!
Bike will repair! Bike insurers I have delt with so far have been great! I had my payoff for my bike before I was even out of hospital!

And im with you on the locked to the stretcher thing! try 5 hours of it with a splint stuck in your crotch :/

If you need anyone to come say "hmmmmm..... yea thats broken..." let me know :D

Damn BMW drivers.... :p

Glad you're ok mate it could have been a lot worse from behind.

H&R I found good with my claim, they used Albany who were relatively decent. Slow process though, they're still chasing the third party's insurer for the rest of my money! Got most just waiting on the last bit.

Most important thing is you're ok dude

Ouch, at least you wouldn't have any liability issues especially if the guy admitted it to the police. When some driver went into the back of me, took several months to get insurance through. But good to know you are fine.

Cheers guys, the main reason I am annoyed is it's sunny! Grrrrrrr.

I'm fine, bit of a headache and sore neck, but I am breathing so to me that means I am fine :)

Another annoyance is the fact I have booked 2 weeks off in feb hoping I would be able to zip around on the bike to see some mates... Not going to happen now :( Oh well, xbox prevails again lol.

Oh so very stiff and sore :'(

Putting on a brave face though lol.

A guy from the medical solicitors is coming today at 1 with some paper work for me to sign, I need to pop to the police station with my licence and all that.

How you doing with your leg btw?

I bet you are :/ Cant say I had whiplash though, about the only thing that didn't ache though :p
Have you got any pics of the damage?

Legs going ok thanks, walking a lot more without a crutch now :D hips got along way to go in terms of physio though.

Glad you're not too roughed up, this is the sole reason I'll never buy a motorbike for road use, too scared of the other muppets on the road.

Hope your injuries heal up soon

Get well soon, the bike can be replaced easier than you! I usually get the opposite, cars pulling out of side streets in front of me. Luckily i've managed to avoid them so far :)
